SAN MATEO, Calif. – After upsetting No. 6 Gonzaga last Thursday at The Kennel, LMU guard Cam Shelton won University Credit Union WCC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the first time this season. For a WCC-best seventh time this season – and fourth in a row - Aidan Mahaney was named the UCU WCC Freshman of the Week.
 
UCU WCC MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – CAM SHELTON, SR., G – LMU
Cam Shelton was elite in LMU's win over No. 6 Gonzaga Thursday night in Spokane, snapping the Zags' 75-game home unbeaten streak. LMU's senior scored 27 points, tying his career high with 11 made field goals, including hitting the go-ahead game-winning shot in the final minute of play. The guard also grabbed nine rebounds, one shy of his career high. Shelton now ranks second in the West Coast Conference in scoring (18.9 ppg), third in assists (4.5 apg) and third in steals (2.0 spg).

UCU WCC MEN'S BASKETBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK – AIDAN MAHANEY, FR., G – SAINT MARY’S
Last weekend, Aidan Mahaney posted another 20-point performance in the Gaels’ victory over Santa Clara, their ninth-straight win overall and seventh in conference play. He now boasts six 20-point games, which is the second most in Saint Mary's history for freshmen (Patty Mills - 8). Against the Broncos, Mahaney was stellar from beyond the arc, drilling four of his six attempts. For the week, Mahaney shot 50 percent from three-point distance.
