SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Helping clinch Gonzaga’s seventh-straight WCC Regular Season Title behind a pair of double doubles, GU’s Yvonne Ejim was named the University Credit Union West Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week – her third award this season. For a WCC record-tying sixth-straight time, Santa Clara’s Tess Heal won UCU WCC Freshman of the Week.

Yvonne Ejim averaged a double double last week with 15.5 points and 10.5 rebounds a game. She shot 65.0 percent from the field and dished out three assists in each game played. With back-to-back double doubles, Ejim helped the Bulldogs secure its 18th WCC Regular Season Title as the Zags finished 17-1 in the conference.

UCU WCC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK – TESS HEAL, FR., G – SANTA CLARA
Santa Clara’s freshman phenom Tess Heal ranks third in scoring (17.2 ppg) in the WCC at the conclusion of the regular season. She averaged 11 points and four assists last week as the Broncos split on the road at LMU and Pepperdine. In the win over LMU on Thursday, Heal scored a team-high 18 points, grabbed four rebounds, four assists, and a season-high three steals. With 12 total University Credit Union Freshman of the Week awards Heal now owns the conference record.
