Gonzaga, Portland Tie For First In Men's Cross Country Preseason Poll

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference announced on Friday its 2024 men's cross country preseason poll and All-WCC preseason honors. Gonzaga and Portland each received the same number of first place votes and points.

The preseason poll and the All-WCC preseason team were selected solely by a vote of the conference’s eight head coaches. Coaches cannot vote for their own team and student-athletes.

Gonzaga and Portland each garnered 46 points and four first-place votes to lead the WCC preseason poll. The Bulldogs had the most selections on the All-WCC preseason team, returning four all-conference honorees from last season.

The Pilots and Washington State each had three selections on the All-WCC preseason team rounding out the honorees.

Santa Clara was third in the WCC preseason poll earning 36 points while WSU was voted to finish fourth (32 points).

The 2024 WCC Men’s Cross Country Championship will be held Saturday, Nov. 2, hosted by Pacific at Micke Groves Golf Links in Lodi, Calif.
