West Coast Conference women's basketball is coming off a banner year in 2024-25. Six programs earned selections to postseason tournaments, matching a conference record. Oregon State represented the conference in the NCAA Tournament, while Portland and Gonzaga each advanced to the quarterfinals of the Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament. Pacific, Saint Mary’s and Washington State were each selected to the Women’s National Invitation Tournament. Gonzaga's Allie Turner, the 2025 West Coast Conference Freshman of the Year and first team all-conference selection returns this season. She broke the program’s single-season record and finished second on the West Coast Conference’s single-season list with 105 three-pointers last year.

For a record sixth consecutive tournament and 11th time in the last 13 events, multiple West Coast Conference men's basketball teams earned NCAA selections as Saint Mary's and Gonzaga received bids into the 2025 NCAA Tournament collectively for the fourth straight year. West Coast Conference men's basketball also tied a conference record with six men's basketball teams selected to participate in the postseason after Oregon State and Washington State were named to the inaugural College Basketball Crown field and San Francisco and Santa Clara were named to the NIT field.
