SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has announced an extension with Credit Union 1 as the title partner of the West Coast Conference Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championship.
The extension was secured by Van Wagner, who manages the West Coast Conference’s sponsorship and marketing partners program.
Credit Union 1, a leading financial institution with a nationwide membership, began its relationship as the official banking partner of the West Coast Conference during the 2023-24 academic year. The extension of the partnership is for four years, through the 2030 men’s and women’s basketball championship. The initial partnership runs through the current academic year.
“Credit Union 1 has been a valuable partner of the West Coast Conference,” said West Coast Conference Commissioner Stu Jackson. “As our leading corporate partner, their investment stretches well beyond their national visibility at our basketball championship. Todd Gunderson and his team have exhibited a tremendous conference-wide commitment with financial literacy programs for student-athletes and support for conference initiatives. We are grateful for this partnership and Credit Union 1’s long-term commitment to the West Coast Conference.”
"Credit Union 1 is proud to extend our partnership with the West Coast Conference and continue being a champion for the incredible student-athletes across the conference," says Todd Gunderson, President and CEO of Credit Union 1. "CU1 has seen incredible engagement and excitement from student-athletes with our financial literacy programs, and we look forward to expanding that impact over the next four years. Together, we are helping students build a solid financial foundation for the future and strengthening the West Coast Conference community."
As the Conference’s official banking partner, Credit Union 1 has had a year-round presence through West Coast Conference marketing platforms and supported the conference’s innovative conference-wide initiatives, including student-athlete financial wellness programs and an information seminar during the West Coast Conference’s student-athlete leadership summit. Students, faculty, staff and alumni at member institutions have access to best-in-class banking benefits.
The 2026 Credit Union 1 West Coast Conference Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championship will take place at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas March 5-10. Each year during the partnership, Credit Union 1 is showcased as part of on-court and in-arena signage, along with a highly visible presence on national broadcasts, as all 22 games of the 2026 championship will air on either ESPN linear channels or ESPN+.
