Pepperdine Set To Face UCLA In The 2025 Women's Soccer NCAA Tournament

Waves will compete in their third straight NCAA Tournament

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – After earning the automatic qualifier with its second straight West Coast Conference women's soccer championship, Pepperdine will play at No. 4 seed UCLA in the NCAA Tournament as announced Monday by the NCAA.

Pepperdine and the Bruins will square off on Saturday at 6 p.m. If the Waves advance, they will play the winner of No. 5 seed BYU and Utah State.

This year's bid is the 99th in conference history. The Conference boasts 21 final four appearances and four national titles. The West Coast Conference had been a multi-bid league for 33 consecutive seasons until this year's tournament.

Pepperdine (11-6-2, 8-2-1) will be competing in its third straight NCAA Tournament. The Waves defeated San Francisco on the final day of the regular season to clinch the outright conference title a year after sharing the conference crown with Santa Clara, marking the sixth conference title in program history. Pepperdine started conference play with a six-game winning streak and went unbeaten through the first seven games. In conference play, PEP outscored its opponents, 27-7. Julia Quinonez ranked second in the league lead in goals with 11 and in points (26), while Tatum Wynalda paced the league in assists with 10. As a team, Pepperdine ranks second in the league in points (118) and goals (41).

The Waves are 4-22-4 all-time against UCLA but Pepperdine most recently defeated the third-ranked Bruins in 2024, 1-0. These teams last met in the NCAA Tournament in 2014, a UCLA victory in Los Angeles.

First-round games are scheduled to take place from Nov. 14-16 at 32 different campus sites. The second and third rounds will occur at eight campus sites, and those contests will take place Nov. 20 and 23. The quarterfinals are slated for Nov. 28 and Nov. 29.

The 2025 NCAA College Cup is scheduled to begin on Dec. 5 at CPKC Stadium in Kansas City, Mo. The national championship game will take place on Dec. 8.
