Gonzaga's Mark Few Named A Finalist For Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Class Of 2025

Few is one of 17 finalists

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Gonzaga men's basketball head coach Mark Few was named one of 17 finalists for the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2025, as announced Friday at NBA All-Star Weekend.

Few and the other finalists will now be put forward to the Honors Committee to be considered for election as members of the Class of 2025, which will be announced in San Antonio on Saturday, April 5, at the NCAA Men's Final Four. 

A candidate among the North American Committee finalists, Few is one of three coaches in the North American Committee, along with Billy Donovan and Jerry Welsh. Also in the North American Committee is the 2008 U.S. Olympic Men's Basketball Team, Carmelo Anthony, Danny Crawford, Dwight Howard, Marques Johnson and Buck Williams. Other committees featuring finalists include the Women's Committee, the Men's Veterans Committee, the Women's Veterans Committee, the International Committee and the Contributors Committee. 

Highlighting Few's many accomplishments include leading Gonzaga to 25 consecutive NCAA Tournament berths through 2024, including two NCAA national championship game appearances in 2017 and 2021. Those same years, Few was also named the Naismith Coach of the Year. He is the winningest active coach by percentage and has won at least 20 games in all 25 seasons with the Bulldogs. Few is the West Coast Conference's all-time winningest coach with 357 conference victories. He is the second fastest coach to 700 wins in NCAA Division I history, has won at least a share of 22 West Coast Conference regular-season titles and 19 West Coast Conference tournament championships, most recently in 2023, and has coached 22 All-Americans at Gonzaga. He was also an assistant coach for the U.S. Olympic Team that captured a Gold medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Enshrinement Weekend will be held on Friday, Sept. 5, at the Mohegan Sun. The festivities will begin with the Tip-Off Celebration and Awards Gala, followed by the Enshrinement Ceremony the next day at Springfield’s historic Symphony Hall.
