West Coast Conference Announces 2025 Men's Cross Country Preseason Honors

Portland earned six first-place votes to take first

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Picking up six first-place votes, Portland was picked first in the 2025 West Coast Conference Men's Cross Country Preseason Poll as the conference announced its preseason honors Thursday.

The preseason poll and the all-conference preseason team were selected solely by a vote of the conference’s 10 head coaches. Coaches cannot vote for their own team and student-athletes.

The Pilots took first with 77 points, while Washington State came in second with 73 points and three first-place votes. Gonzaga was next in third with 69 points and garnered the remaining first-place vote.

Washington State led the way with five preseason team honorees, highlighted by the 2024 West Coast Conference Co-Runner of the Year Evans Kurui. Portland heard its name called three times on the preseason team, while Gonzaga garnered two selections.

Kurui, Bryce Cerkowniak (GON) and Logan Law (GON) were repeat all-conference preseason team honorees.

The 2025 West Coast Conference Men’s Cross Country Championship will be held Saturday, Nov. 1, hosted by Gonzaga at The Plains Golf Course in Spokane, Wash.
