WEST COAST CONFERENCE WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE WEEK – ROSEMARY LONGISA, FR. – WASHINGTON STATE
Rosemary Longisa captured the women's gold 6k title at the Gans Creek Classic, helping Washington State finish in ninth place as a team. A competition that featured eight teams ranked in the top 30 nationally, Longisa ran a course-record time of 19:07, a narrow victory by 0.7 seconds over the second-place runner. Longisa led at the 3000m mark, dropped to fifth at 4k, then regained her lead at the 5k mark, and never allowed anyone to pass her after that. Her final split was 3:07.6, good enough for Longisa to garner her second title and course record this season. This marks the second time in the last three weeks that Longisa has won West Coast Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week.
