SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Thomas Kiesling claimed the first KAP7 West Coast Conference Men’s Water Polo Player of the Week honor of the season for UC Davis after leading the Aggies to an unbeaten weekend, while Gabrijel Burburan earned his second Newcomer of the Week award after leading Loyola Marymount in goals and points in a win over Air Force.

Six total goals from Thomas Kiesling led UC Davis to another perfect weekend in conference play, with the Aggies dominating the first half against No. 16 Pepperdine in a 17-8 win on Friday and playing a complete defensive game in an 11-6 victory over No. 20 Saint Mary's on Sunday. Kiesling led all players with four goals against the Waves, securing his seventh hat trick of the year. He was also only one of three players with multiple goals against the Gaels, with his two goals putting him at 50 on the season and in the team lead while also making this his third straight season with 50 or more goals.

KAP7 WEST COAST CONFERENCE MEN’S WATER POLO NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK – GABRIJEL BURBURAN, FR., A – LOYOLA MARYMOUNT
Gabrijel Burburan powered Loyola Marymount’s offense in the Waves’ lone game of the week, a 23-14 WCC road win at Air Force. Burburan scored six goals on 10 shots (.600) to lead the Lions in both goals and points. He scored twice in each of the first three quarters. His two first-quarter goals helped LMU to a 4-2 lead, and he added a pair in the second, including an extra-man goal with 1:53 left that made the score 11-3 on the way to a 12-5 halftime lead. He kept his scoring spree going in the third with another extra-man goal at 1:23, then scored again with 26 seconds left in the quarter to push the lead to 17-7.
