LMU Earns No. 7 Seed in NC Beach Volleyball Championship

The Lions will play TCU in the first round in a rematch of the 2025 national title match

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – LMU, the 2026 West Coast Conference Beach Volleyball champions, has earned a No. 7 seed in the NC Beach Volleyball Championship and will face No. 10 TCU in its opening round match on Friday, and its also a rematch from the 2025 national championship match. 

The event will once again take place in Gulf Shores, Alabama. 
 
The full 17-team NC Beach Volleyball Championship field was announced Sunday morning. The single-elimination tournament will begin on Friday, with the No. 16 and No. 17 seeds facing off, before a 16-team tournament gets underway that same day. The quarterfinals and semifinals are on Saturday and the championship match will be on Sunday. 

The Lions are making their sixth appearance in the NCAA Championships. In last season's tournament the Lions advanced all the way to the national championship match against TCU, taking it down to the final court before the Horned Frogs prevailed. The Lions own nine top-12 wins on the season heading into the tournament. 

Finishing the regular season with an overall record of 29-10, the Lions will enter the NCAA Tournament riding a seven-match winning streak. LMU and TCU met once during the regular season in 2026 with TCU winning, 4-1. 
 
The entire NC Beach Volleyball Championship will be televised on ESPN2, except for the national championship, which will air on ESPN.
