2004 WCC Basketball Tournament Information

The West Coast Conference Basketball Tournament returns to the Bay Area in 2004 and 2005. The 2004 WCC Basketball Tournament will be held on the Santa Clara University campus, and for the second consecutive year, the WCC will use an 8-Team/ Play-In format for both the men and the women. The women will play March 4-7, 2004 and the men will square-off March 5-8, 2004.

The 2004 and 2005 tournaments will be held in the Bay Area, the 2006 and 2007 tournaments in the Pacific Northwest and the 2008 and 2009 tournaments in Southern California.

Under the format that was adopted in 2003, the #5 through #8 seeds will compete in the opening round to determine who will advance to the next round of the tournament. Waiting for the winners in the quarterfinals will be the #3 and #4 seeds, who will have first round byes. The winners of the quarterfinal match-ups will go head-to-head with the #1 and #2 seeds, who will have byes through the first two rounds of the tournament.

West Coast Conference Auctioning VIP Floor Seats at WCC Basketball Tournament

The West Coast Conference is partnering with Yahoo! Auctions to auction off VIP sideline floor seat packages for the 2004 WCC Men's and Women's Basketball Tournament. The event will be held March 4-8 at Santa Clara University's Leavey Center. To access the auction click here. The auction begins Wednesday morning, February 18th and will run until approximately 11:59pm on Thursday, February 26th. A total of 2 men's packages and 2 women's packages are available.

Each package includes the following:

The WCC's premier event consists of 14 thrilling men's and women's games over a five-day period. The women's event features the regionally televised WCC Women's Basketball Championship on March 7th while the entire event culminates with the nationally televised WCC Men's Basketball Championship Game on March 8th. This has traditionally been one of the most entertaining post-season tournaments in all of college basketball as fans and players alike will be treated to the intense and intimate basketball atmosphere of the Leavey Center.

A nationally recognized force in intercollegiate athletics, the West Coast Conference consists of Gonzaga University, Loyola Marymount University, Pepperdine University, University of Portland, Saint Mary's College, University of San Diego, University of San Francisco, and Santa Clara University.
