Sinclair Nabs Third WCC Player Of The Week Award

Oct. 19, 2004

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Portland junior All-American Christine Sinclair has been named the West Coast Conference women's soccer Player of the Week after guiding the Pilots to three wins last week. The Burnaby, B.C. native tallied four goals, including the game-winning goals in all three Portland wins to claim her third weekly honor from the WCC this season.

Sinclair started the week by registering the game-winning goal in the Pilots' 2-0 win over Portland State. She then scored both goals in Portland's 2-1 win versus No. 20 Pepperdine on Friday. Her second goal versus the Waves came with under a minute left in the second overtime period to lift the Pilots to the win. Sinclair then found the back of the net in the 93rd minute to give the Pilots a 1-0 win over Loyola Marymount on Sunday.

The three game-winners moved her into a tie with Shannon MacMillan atop the Portland all-time career game-winners list with 26. Sinclair leads the conference with 17 goals and nine game-winners, while her eight assists are second behind teammate Lindsey Huie's nine.
