Sinclair Tabbed Third Team Academic All-American

TOWSON, Md. - University of Portland junior forward Christine Sinclair has been named to the 2004 Academic All-America Women's Soccer third team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Sinclair, also a third team honoree in 2002, becomes the first Pilot soccer player ever to earn multiple Academic All-America selections.

Sinclair, a life science major with a 3.68 cumulative grade-point average, led Portland to the quarterfinals of the 2004 NCAA Tournament. The Burnaby, B.C. native garnered West Coast Conference Player of the Year accolades after tallying 22 goals, 11 assists and 10 game-winners on the season. She is one of 15 semifinalists for the Missouri Athletic Club's Hermann Trophy and was named to the national team of the week by Soccer Buzz and Soccer America a combined four times. Already among the school's all-time scoring leaders, Sinclair has career totals of 71 goals, 22 assists and 164 points. Her 27 game-winners are a school record.

Former Pilots Imani Dorsey and Justi Baumgardt are joined by Sinclair as Academic All-Americans. Both Dorsey (2003) and Baumgardt (1998) were second team selections.
