Dec. 21, 2004

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - The West Coast Conference is proud to announce Doreen Magee as Assistant Commissioner in charge of championships, said WCC Commissioner Michael Gilleran.

"We are excited that Doreen will be joining our staff," said Gilleran. "We feel like she will be an asset to the WCC and believe that she will do an outstanding job."

She also served as the Administrative Fellow for the Pac-10 (1998-2000) where her primary focus was championship administration and the administration of sports programs.

A 1997 graduate of Washington State University with a degree in Communications, Magee was a four-year letterwinner in basketball for the Cougars. She earned her master's degree in education from the University of San Francisco. She and her husband, Jimmy, live in San Francisco.

In addition to the hiring of Magee, WCC Assistant Commissioners Brad Walker and Gloria Nevarez were promoted to Associate Commissioners. Nevarez will also retain her title as the conferences Senior Women's Administrator (SWA).
