Orndorff Nabs WCC Player of The Week Award

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - University of Portland senior forward Ashlee Orndorff has been named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week after leading the Pilots to a 66-63 road win over UC Davis on Saturday. Orndorff scored 23 points, collected eight rebounds, had four steals and three blocked shots in the win.

The Hawthorne, Nev. native was 10-of-13 from the field, 2-of-3 from three-point range and nailed her only free-throw attempt. With Portland trailing by eight points in the closing minutes, Orndorff scored nine of UP's final 13 points to cap a late comeback for the win.

Orndorff is among the WCC leaders in five statistical categories, including first in blocked shots per game (3.0) and second in steals per game (2.62). She has at least one block in all eight games she has played in, including three rejections in seven contests.
