UP Duo Set for Baylor Intercollegiates

Sept. 23, 2004

PORTLAND, Ore, - Pilot senior, Roman Borvanov and junior, Matt Loucks will travel to Waco, Texas this week to compete in one of the most competitive national tournaments of the fall. The tournament is hosted by Baylor University, which boasts one of the nicest tennis facilities in the country. Baylor is also the defending national champion, after claiming the title for the first time in the spring of 2004.

"It is a great opportunity for our guys to get some national exposure early on in the fall," said head coach Aaron Gross. "The tournament is really tough. Most of the top teams in Texas send their best players, plus the fact that Baylor is coming off winning the NCAA title, just makes this a special event for us to be a part of."

Singles play begins on Friday, Sept. 24. Borvanov and Loucks will also be teaming up for doubles, which will begin Friday afternoon.
