Extreme Web Makeover: Pilot Edition

June 29, 2005

PORTLAND, Ore. -The University of Portland Athletics Department is in the process of reconstructing its website over the summer, commencing with a launch of the redesigned site on Thursday, August 25, 2005. The domain name will remain the same: "www.portlandpilots.com," but the site will be completely revamped. With the help of AmericanEagle.com, a Chicago based company, future visitors to the site will have a faster and easier experience while navigating through the site.

All sections of the site are being designed for aesthetic appeal, yet streamlined to ensure quick download time and user friendly access to all content. The addition of a new tabular package for news, features, campus news, events, promotions and multimedia is one example of the depth and increased visibility the site will bring to Portland athletics. The redesign will also include photo galleries, revamped sports sections, a sportsticker, trivia contests, a visitor's section and much more! These enhancements, coupled with additional site navigation and search capabilities, make it convenient for visitors to efficiently access a wide array of information about the Pilots.

This is the first time since the University of Portland originally launched its athletics website on May 15, 2001, that any major redesign has taken place.

Founded in 1901, the University of Portland is a private, comprehensive, Catholic university with a mission of Teaching, Faith and Service. The University features 16 NCAA Division I sponsored sports and is a member of the West Coast Conference.
