Entering its 53rd year of academic and athletic excellence, the West Coast Conference prepares for another season of nationally recognized and competitive play. As one of the oldest conferences in the nation - only 2 leagues have been together longer - the WCC prides itself on its rich history, from the Bill Russell-led San Francisco men's basketball national champions in 1955 to the recent WCC success in women's soccer and women's volleyball.
The 2004-2005 season boasted several national accolades including 26 WCC All-Americans and 35 team postseason appearances, with five teams reaching at least the Sweet 16. WCC men's basketball finished 7th in the final RPI, its highest ranking in league history. The 2005-2006 season looks to be another successful year for the West Coast Conference.
