SAN BRUNO, Calif. - The University of San Diego completed an impressive sweep, taking home all three WCC Player of the Week awards. Junior forward Amy Epsten earned the women's soccer Player of the Week honor after scoring the game-winning goal in the Toreros' 1-0 win over No. 5 Santa Clara, while junior Colin Jennings took home the men's award after posting game-winning goals versus Portland and No. 23 Gonzaga. Rounding out this week's honors was senior Laurel Abrahamson, who turned in a dominating performance in leading the Toreros to wins over Pepperdine and Loyola Marymount.

Senior middle hitter Laurel Abrahamson is this week's WCC Player of the Week after helping lead the 17th-ranked
University of San Diego women's volleyball team to wins over Pepperdine and Loyola Marymount. Abrahamson, a native of Bloomington, Minn., averaged 4.71 kills per game on
an outstanding .459 hitting percentage, while also tallying 11 blocks on the
week. In Friday's sweep over Pepperdine, Abrahamson posted 12 kills on 23
attempts to post a .391 attack percentage and in Saturday's 3-1 win over
Loyola Marymount, Abrahamson led all players with her 21 kills on 38
attempts while only committing two attack errors to post a resounding .500
attack percentage. On the season, Abrahamson has 272 kills (3.78 kpg) and
is hitting a conference-leading .395 attack percentage.

Colin Jennings led San Diego to a pair of impressive road victories over the weekend, snapping a four-match Torero skid and giving USD its first two wins in conference play. The junior tallied San Diego's second goal in a 2-1 victory over Portland on Friday, finishing a chance from close range to provide the difference. On Sunday, Jennings headed in a corner kick in overtime to score the golden goal and lift the Toreros to a 1-0 win over then-No. 23 ranked Gonzaga in Spokane. With the two goals, Jennings moved into the team lead with three scoring strikes on the season.

Junior forward Amy Epsten was named the WCC Player of the Week after helping lead the 11th-ranked University
of San Diego women's soccer team to an upset win over then-No. 5, Santa
Clara University this past week. Epsten, a San Diego native, tallied her team-leading seventh goal of the
season, and it was a huge one. Senior midfielder Leigh Ann Robinson took
control of the ball just near midfield, and sent a lead pass to Epsten, who
in turn burned past the SCU defender for a one-on-one situation with the
Broncos goalkeeper, and was able to hit a laser strike into the back of the
net to give USD the win in the 41st minute of action. On the season, Epsten
has tallied seven goals and added in one assist for a team-leading 15
points.
