WCC Players of the Week Announced

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - The West Coast Conference honored a trio of sophomores on Monday when it announced its Players of the Week winners. Pepperdine's Rachel Lumsden earned the weekly conference honor in volleyball, while San Francisco's Conor Chinn was selected as the men's soccer Player of the Week and Santa Clara's Courtney Lewis took home the women's soccer award.

Rachel Lumsden, PEP
SO - OH		 Pepperdine sophomore outside hitter Rachel Lumsden has been named this week's WCC Player of the Week after being named Tournament MVP at the Blue/Green Classic in West Virginia. Lumsden helped the Waves roll to a 3-0 finish this weekend and a season record of 8-4 thus far. Lumsden left Marshall, Akron and West Virginia in her wake with an average of 3.7 kills per game and led the squad in service aces (five) and digs (36). Lumsden hit .325 this weekend and matched her season high record with 20 kills in the win over Marshall. Lumsden and the Waves left West Virginia with the Blue/Green Classic title in hand.
MEN'S SOCCER

Conor Chinn, USF
SO - F		 Conor Chinn scored three goals to lead San Francisco to wins over then-No. 11 ranked California and Stanford over the weekend. The sophomore notched the first multi-goal match of his career against the Golden Bears, scoring the equalizer in the 11th minute before burying the game-winner just after the half in a 2-1 USF triumph. Chinn struck again in San Francisco's 2-1 overtime victory at Stanford on Sunday, opening the scoring with his third goal of the weekend in the seventh minute. The Dons garnered a No. 12 ranking in the Soccer America poll following the two wins.
WOMEN'S SOCCER

Courtney Lewis, SCU
SO - MF		 Santa Clara midfielder Courtney Lewis aided the No. 1 Broncos' attack over the weekend by scoring the equalizing goals in both SCU wins. The Mission Viejo, Calif., native netted the game-tying goal versus No. 12 Rutgers on Friday at the 2007 Stanford Invitational. The goal was scored with just two minutes left in regulation and sent the Broncos into overtime to record the 2-1 victory. On Sunday, against No. 20 Missouri, the redshirt freshman struck again as she received a cross from Kiki Bosio to knot the score, 1-1, just before halftime.
