SAN BRUNO, Calif. - The West Coast Conference awarded three student-athletes with WCC Player of the Week honors on Monday. Pepperdine senior outside hitter Julie Rubenstein was selected as the WCC Volleyball Player of the week for the second consecutive week after leading the Waves to a 3-0 record, including a win over No. 17 Colorado State. Loyola Marymount junior goalkeeper Patrick Sampson was tabbed as the WCC Men's Soccer Player of the Week after helping the Lions post a 1-0 shutout of No. 24 Cal Poly. Portland's Danielle Foxhoven was selected as the Women's Soccer Player of the Week after scoring five goals last week, including notching a hat trick in the Pilots' win over Colgate.

The senior outside hitter averaged a WCC-best 5.17 kills per game on a solid .359 hitting percentage en route to her second straight tournament MVP honors. Rubenstein had 62 of Pepperdine's 163 kills over the weekend (38%).

Weekly Stats: 6 saves, 1 shutout versus No. 24 Cal Poly Sampson was at the top of his game Friday, recording his
first career shutout as the Lions earned their first victory of the season
by knocking off #24 Cal Poly 1-0. Sampson made six saves on the day,
including two crucial finger-tip stops, to preserve the single-goal win. In
doing so, he lowered his season goals-against-average to 0.45.

Weekly Stats: 5 goals, 1 hat trick Foxhoven was unstoppable last week, scoring five total goals, including registering a hat trick in the Pilots' win versus Colgate. Foxhoven started the week by scoring two goals and assisting on the game-winning goal in the Pilots' win over Kennesaw State. Foxhoven leads the Pilots with six goals and 13 points in the team's first five matches.
