SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. —Freshman Aaron Lombardi made an immediate impression. In only his second collegiate game, Lombardi scored to give the Dons the lead and again in double overtime to give them the 2-1 West Coast Conference win over Gonzaga on Sunday afternoon.

"He's a kid that's coming long," San Francisco head coach Eddie Soto said. "We knew what type of player he was going to be and the impact he would be on this team. This is why we brought him on. He's a dynamic kid who can make plays, who can score goals."

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The No. 19 BYU women's soccer team extends its winning streak to nine with a strong 3-0 team win over Loyola Marymount on the road on Saturday night.

"A great effort from our girls on the road in a very physical match," BYU women's soccer head coach Jennifer Rockwood said. "Our team defense continues to improve, tonight we didn't allow a single shot on goal."

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - In the first home West Coast Conference game of the season, Santa Clara women's soccer beat Pacific by a final of 2-0. The win puts the Broncos at 10-5-0 overall and 3-1-0 in WCC play while the Tigers are 2-12-1 and 0-5-0 in conference action.

MADISON, Wisc. - The No. 5 Portland Pilots men's cross country team finished fourth at the Wisconsin Invitational on Friday morning at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course. The Pilot's were led by senior Scott Fauble who placed fourth overall in the 8k race with a time of 23:52.

So, when the Gaels were faced with a significant deficit to overcome midway through what could have been a decisive fourth set Thursday at Portland, those impulses kicked into gear yet again.

SPOKANE, Wash. - Keeping the big night for those in the orange and black, the Tigers came up with a comeback effort of their own on the road at Gonzaga as Pacific downed the Bulldogs in five on Thursday, Oct, 16. The win against the red-hot Bulldogs gave the Tigers (15-5) their 15th win of the year as they matched their win total from a season prior. Pacific's win snapped the Bulldogs (13-5) four-match win streak as both teams moved to 4-3 in the WCC standings.

SANTA CLARA, Calif.—The Gonzaga University men's soccer team started West Coast Conference play Friday night, and the Zags opened with a bang, beating Santa Clara 2-1 at Buck Shaw Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.

"It was a good win for the guys tonight," said Gonzaga head coach Einar Thorarinsson. "You have to give Santa Clara credit for fighting back, our guys were pressured for the better part of 30 minutes in the second half. We found a way to battle back, though."
