SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference is pleased to announce the 2016 West Coast Conference Beach Volleyball All-Academic Team. The inaugural team includes four student-athletes named to both the indoor and beach All-Academic squads.
Pacific seniors Mia Feiner, and Kimmy Whitson along with Santa Clara teammates, sophomore Kirsten Mead and senior Danielle Rottman, hold GPA's higher than 3.50 and play both indoor and beach volleyball. All four student-athletes also earned 2015 Volleyball All-Academic honors.
This season, 14 nominated beach volleyball student-athletes posted a GPA of 3.50 or better while seven recorded a mark of 3.75 or higher. Pepperdine's Samantha Cash posted an unblemished 4.00 as a graduate student in Learning Technologies.
At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to her team.
