WEST COAST CONFERENCE BASKETBALL QUICK HITS

  • BYU is listed in Charlie Creme of espnW's Bracketology report as a 13-seed representing the West Coast Conference (Jan. 15)
  • For the first time since the 1998-99 season, no WCC entered the third week of conference play with an unblemished record, speaking to what promises to be a competitive championship run. In the last instance that saw no teams post a 4-0 mark, Santa Clara and Pepperdine finished the season as co-champions with identical 11-3 records.

  • Further, as many as six WCC teams can finish Week 4 tied atop the conference standings. Nine teams are currently within two games of first place.

  • BYU senior Kalani Purcell is NCAA Division I's active career leader with an 11.7 career rebounding average at BYU. Purcell is also 16th among active Division I student-athletes with 27 career double-doubles.

  • Gonzaga knocked off then-No. 11 Stanford, 68-63, to mark the second consecutive season that a WCC team defeated the nationally-ranked Cardinal on their home floor.

  • BYU senior Kalani Purcell has registered up double-doubles in all five of six games of the WCC season at this point.

  • Loyola Marymount senior Leslie Lopez-Wood sits 12th among active Division I three-point scoring leaders (243 made career 3-pointers). Lopez-Wood is also 20th in 3-points per game (2.27) and 19th in career attempts (677).
