May 23, 2018

WCC CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL | 2018 ALL-WCC TEAM

SAN BRUNO, Calif. -
The West Coast Conference is pleased to announce the 2018 West Coast Conference Baseball All-Academic Team.

Five WCC student-athletes on the all-academic squad earn academic honors for the second consecutive season: Gonzaga's Daniel Fredrickson (Mechanical Engineering), Loyola Marymount's Brandon Shearer (Entrepreneurship), Pacific's Cooper Casad (Sport Management) and Matthew Tarantino (Business Administration) and Saint Mary's Joey Fiske (Biology).

All told, 11 West Coast Conference baseball student-athletes posted a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or better and a whopping 23 posted a GPA of 3.50 or better.

At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to his team. No fewer than 41 WCC student-athletes met the academic criteria for baseball.
