BYU’s Colohan Named WCC Player of the Week

Junior scored both game-winners in BYU's opening weekend

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Brigham Young junior midfielder Mikayla Colohan has been named the West Coast Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.

Colohan came up big in a 2-0 road weekend for the Cougars in a pair of wins against SEC competition. The junior scored both game-winning goals after getting the lone goal in a 1-0 win at Alabama followed by the second goal in a 2-1 win at Mississippi State.

Her goal at Alabama came in the 9th minute to open the season. The preseason All-WCC selection then scored again in BYU’s next game with a tally in the 85th minute to secure the perfect weekend.

The honor is the first WCC Player of the Week in Colohan’s career.
