WCC Unveils 2020 Baseball All-Academic Team

20 student-athletes post GPAs of 3.75 or better

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - The West Coast Conference is pleased to announce the 2020 West Coast Conference Baseball All-Academic Team.

Two WCC student-athletes on the all-academic squad earned first team honors for the second consecutive season: Saint Mary’s Ryan Novis and Gonzaga's Michael Spellacy.

In addition, two first team honorees were selected to the 2020 Academic All-District 8 squad: San Diego’s Adam Kerner and Thomas Luevano.

All told, 20 West Coast Conference baseball student-athletes posted a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or better and a whopping 42 posted a GPA of 3.50 or better.

No fewer than 88 WCC student-athletes met the academic criteria for baseball.
Pacific led all programs with 17 student-athletes meeting the minimum academic standards for consideration, followed by San Francisco (15), Portland (11) and Santa Clara (11).

At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to his team.
