SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference is pleased to announce its 2020 Beach Volleyball All-Academic team, comprised of 10 student-athletes who have excelled this season both in the classroom and on the sand.
LMU’s
Jessie Prichard (Communication Studies) is the lone returning member of the first team. Pepperdine’s
Peyton Lewis (Economics) made an impressive debut boasting a perfect 4.00 GPA as a sophomore.
This season, 27 student-athletes turned in a 3.50 GPA while 14 registered 3.75 or above. Both marks break conference records established last season (19/10).
No fewer than 47 WCC student-athletes met the academic criteria for beach volleyball. Pacific and Pepperdine led all programs with 10 student-athletes meeting the minimum academic standards for consideration, followed by Saint Mary’s (8).
At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average while also being a significant contributor to her team.
