SAN MATEO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has announced its Beach Volleyball All-Academic Team for the 2021 season. This year’s 10-member first team encompasses WCC student-athletes who excelled both on the sand and in the classroom.
Five beach volleyball programs placed at least one student-athlete on the first team led by four from two-time defending WCC Champion LMU and three from Pepperdine.
This year’s squad features three repeat appearances headlined by LMU’s
Jessie Prichard, a member of the 2021 WCC Pair of the Year, who makes her third and final first team appearance. Pepperdine’s
Simone Priebe, and LMU’s
Megan Rice each earned their second spot on the first team.
No fewer than 33 beach volleyball student-athletes qualified for academic honors. Nearly 25 posted a GPA of at least 3.50, while 17 posted marks of 3.75 or better.
At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to her team.
