SAN MATEO, Calif. – San Diego’s Caleb Ricketts secured WCC Baseball Player of the Week honors, marking the third straight week the Toreros have tabbed the conference’s player of the week. Santa Clara’s Cole Kitchen earned WCC Pitcher of the Week accolades, giving the Broncos their first WCC weekly award this season.
#WCCSPORTS PLAYER OF THE WEEK – CALEB RICKETTS, JR., C – USD
Ricketts helped USD pick up four wins last week that included a sweep over Saint Mary’s in conference play. He batted .571 (8-for-14) with two doubles, a triple, four runs scored, and a walk across three games against the Gaels. The junior was 3-for-3 Tuesday night against UC Irvine, notching a double and a walk before he came in to score the game's winning run in the bottom of the tenth. On Friday night against Saint Mary's, he notched three hits again, going 3-for-4 with a run scored and a double. On the year, he's batting .309 (25-for-81) with six doubles, two triples, three home runs and nine RBIs. This is the first WCC weekly honor for Ricketts, while USD has now won the last three consecutive WCC Player of the Week awards.

#WCCSPORTS PITCHER OF THE WEEK – COLE KITCHEN, JR. – SCU
Kitchen recorded 15 strikeouts in Santa Clara’s 4-3 win over LMU on March 25. Kitchen went eight and two-thirds on the mound, allowing two earned runs on seven hits and a walk along with his double-digit Ks. This is Kitchen and Santa Clara’s first WCC weekly award this season.
