OJAI, Calif. - The 2022 West Coast Conference Men's Tennis Tournament is set for April 28-April 30 in Ojai, California, at both the Ojai Valley Athletic Club and Weil Tennis Academy.
Two WCC programs enter this week's WCC Men's Tennis Tournament ranked in the top-50 in the ITA rankings: No. 19 San Diego Toreros and No. 22 Pepperdine.
San Diego is the top seed in the six-team tournament, followed by No. 2 seed Pepperdine, No. 3 seed Portland, No. 4 seed Gonzaga, No. 5 seed Santa Clara and No. 6 seed San Francisco. Gonzaga and Santa Clara will meet on Thursday at 10 a.m. PT on the Ojai Valley Athletic Club courts. Portland will face San Francico at 1 p.m. PT on Thursday on the Ojai Valley Athletic Club courts. The winner of the Gonzaga-Santa Clara match will face San Diego on Friday at 10 a.m. PT. The winner of the Portland-San Francisco match will meet Pepperdine at 1:30 p.m. PT on Friday. Both matches will be played on the Ojai Valley Athletic Club courts.

The Toreros are the No. 1 seed after securing the conference regular season title with a perfect 9-0 conference record. USD completed the regular season 20-3 overall, including a perfect 9-0 in conference matches. Most notably, the Toreros will feature No. 5 August Holmgren, who has compiled a singles record of 26-4 so far this season. Holmgren and Guilherme Osorio enter the WCC Men's Tennis Tournament No. 22 in the ITA doubles rankings.
The Toreros have claimed the last six WCC Men's Tennis Tournament titles. The conference tournament was not held in 2020 and 2021, due to tthe impact of the COVID-19 impact. USD defeated Sana Clara, 4-1, to win the most recent conference tournament, held at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center in Claremont, California, in 2019.
Pepperdine completed the regular season with a 16-6 dual record, including an 8-1 record in conference play. Daniel De Jonge enters the tournament ranked No. 23 in the ITA singles rankings, boasting a singles record of 25-8.
Pepperdine has won the most WCC Men's Tennis Tournament titles standing at 42.
