LMU Takes Third-Straight WCC Beach Title

SANTA MONICA, Calif. - The No. 5 Loyola Marymount University beach volleyball team won its third consecutive West Coast Conference Championship on Saturday at Ocean Park Beach. The team did not drop a court all weekend, beating No. 16 Pepperdine twice on Saturday, 5-0 and 3-0.
 
The final match took place on a staggered start as Selina Marolf and Abbey Thorup won 21-15, 21-18 and Jacinda Ramirez and Isabelle Reffel took down the Waves 21-18, 21-11 on Courts 4 and 5 to give the Lions a 2-0 advantage.

With the top three courts racing to finish one dual result, Megan Rice and Reka Orsi Toth clinched the match from Court 1, 21-16, 21-16 to end the championship and give LMU the crown.
 
The Lions end their regular season with a 29-7 record, while going unbeaten in conference play. The Lions will face Hawaii on May 4th at 11 a.m. in the first round of the NCAA Tournament as the no. 4 seed.
