LMU Advances With 5-1 Win Over BYU

STOCKTON, Calif. - No. 5 seed LMU totaled 15 hits, including five Lions registering multi-hit performances as LMU defeated No,. 4 BYU, 5-1, in the first round of the WCC Baseball Tournament Wednesday night. 

LMU's Benny Casillas notched three hits, and he also scored the first run of the night when All-WCC first-team selection Diego Baqueiro doubled him home in the fifth inning. Casillas also earned an RBI on a sacrifice fly in the eighth that played the Lions' fifth run. 

Dylan Dennis slugged the big hit of the night for LMU when he smacked a two-run home run in the sixth inning. He later earned his third RBI on a bases loaded walk in the seventh inning. 

The Lions will face top-seeded Gonzaga at 3 p.m. on Thursday in the third game of the WCC Tournament.
