SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – After upsetting No. 15 Saint Mary's, LMU's Cam Shelton was named the University Credit Union West Coast Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, while Jevon Porter of Pepperdine won UCU WCC Freshman of the Week after earning his seventh double-double of the season. 

UCU WCC MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – CAM SHELTON, SR., G – LMU
Cam Shelton put together a career-week for the Lions, scoring a career-high 31 points in Thursday's overtime upset victory over No. 15 Saint Mary's. Shelton scored 31 points all after halftime, including the game-tying shot to force overtime. In addition he tallied 15 of the final 20 points of regulation and 11 of his team's 15 points in overtime. This is the first time in program history that LMU has wins over two top-15 programs in the same season, and first home win over a ranked team since 2011. Shelton followed up his win over the Gaels by setting a new career high on Saturday with 36 points against Santa Clara. Shelton shot 14-for-25 (56.0 percent) in the game, knocked in four treys, and was perfect from the free throw line against the Broncos. Over the course of the week, Shelton played 83 of LMU's possible 85 minutes, shooting 51 percent from the floor and was perfect from the free throw line to average 33.5 points, 3.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.0 steals. This is the second time this season that Shelton won WCC Player of the Week, and it is LMU's third weekly honor of the season.

UCU WCC MEN'S BASKETBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK – JEVON PORTER, FR., F – PEPPERDINE
In addition to his 30-point, 10-rebound performance in Pepperdine's win over BYU and his 14-point, seven-rebound output at San Francisco, Porter is the only freshman in the WCC to earn a double-double, and he has accumulated seven on the campaign. His accrual of double-doubles puts him tied for third overall in the conference. Against BYU, Porter shot 71.4 percent from the field and 60 percent from beyond the arc, while posting two steals. This is the second time that Porter has won UCU WCC Freshman of the Week (Dec. 27), and it’s the third weekly honor overall for the Waves this season.
