SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Pepperdine's Ryan Johnson proved efficiency at bat earned him the University Credit Union WCC Baseball Player of the Week. Cole Kitchen of Santa Clara was the Broncos' x-factor in their first game of their series last week, which won him the UCU WCC Pitcher of the Week. 

UCU WCC BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – RYAN JOHNSON, SR., INF – PEPPERDINE
Johnson batted a .571 and had an 11 RBI on the week while posting back-to-back games with two home runs and 5 RBI to tie a career high RBI. In four appearances last week, he only had two strikeouts and scored seven runs for the Waves. He ended the week with five home runs and a double. His five home runs pushed him to 7 on the season to top the WCC.

UCU WCC BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK – COLE KITCHEN, SR. – SANTA CLARA
Kitchen's seven shut out innings was instrumental in leading the Broncos to their 6-1 win in their series opener against UC San Diego. In game one against the Tritons, he only allowed two hits and three walks in that seven inning span, while striking out eight on the day. Kitchen moved to 2-0 in wins to tie first in the Conference.
