LAS VEGAS - No. 2 Portland is headed to the championship game of the 2023 West Coast Conference Baseball Tournament after defeating No. 5 Saint Mary's, 8-4, in an elimination game Friday night from Las Vegas Ballpark.

Peter Allegro went eight complete, earning thet win. The Pilot pitcher struck out 10 Gaels to help push his team to the championship game. 

Jake Holcroft went 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBI. 

Gavin Napier slugged a two-run home run for Saint Mary's. 

The Pilots will face No. 3 seed Santa Clara on Saturday at 1 p.m. Portland needs to win to force an "if-necesssary" game. Santa Clara previously defeated Portland, 15-3, on Thursday. Both the Pilots and the Broncos will be competing for their first WCC Baseball Tournament title.
