Santa Clara To Open NCAA Tournament Vs. No. 3 Arkansas

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO - The 2023 West Coast Conference Baseball Tournament champions Santa Clara heard its name called into the NCAA Tournament during Monday's selection show. 

SCU will head to Arkansas to open the tournament against the No. 3 seed Razorbacks. The Broncos will be joined in the regional with Arizona and TCU who will face each other in the other first-round game in the regional. 

The Broncos will be making their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 1997, and it will be the 11th apperance in program history. In the 1962 NCAA Tournament, Santa Clara was the national runner-up to Michigan. 

Arkansas and Santa Clara have met once before in program history. The Razorbacks beat the Broncos, 10-3, in 1995 in a neutral-site game. 

The NCAA Baseball Regionals will take place from June 2-5, followed by the NCAA Super Regionals the following weekend before the NCAA College World Series will be held in Omaha, Neb., from June 16-26. 

All NCAA Tournament games will be broadcast on the ESPN family of networks. More information regarding specific channels and start times will be announced soon.
