SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – After picking up a tie and its first win of the 2023 season, Pepperdine swept the West Coast Conference Women's Soccer University Credit Union Player of the Week awards this week. Julia Quinonez won University Credit Union WCC Offensive Player of the Week while Taylor Rath claimed University Credit Union WCC Defensive Player of the Week.
UNIVERSITY CREDIT UNION WCC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – JULIA QUINONEZ, FR., F – PEPPERDINE
The freshman is making an immediate impact for the Waves. Quinonez scored in both Pepperdine matches last week, including the game-winning goal during the Waves' 2-0 win at CSUN. She also scored during Pepperdine's 1-1 tie at San Diego State. She recorded five shots in both games combined. This is the second straight week that a Wave has won UCU WCC Offensive Player of the Week after Tatum Wynalda earned the accolade last week.

UNIVERSITY CREDIT UNION WCC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – TAYLOR RATH, SO., GK – PEPPERDINE
Rath notched a career-high six saves against SDSU prior to earning her first shutout of the season at CSUN, 2-0 ... She collected four saves in the win over the Matadors. Rath posted a .909 save percentage combined last week, and only allowed one goal.
