SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – After helping Portland snap San Diego's winning streak and take two out of three over the Toreros, Ben Patacsil from the Pilots won Rawlings WCC Player of the Week. Liam Paddack from Gonzaga claimed Rawlings WCC Pitcher of the Week, while Max Bayles from Santa Clara won Rawlings WCC Freshman of the Week for the second time in 2024.
RAWLINGS WCC BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – BEN PATACSIL, SR., INF – PORTLAND
Ben Patacsil notched a team-high 10 RBI across four games for the Pilots last week, while also batting .438, which was the second-highest average on the team for the week and the highest among players who played all four games. He garnered two multi-hit games for Portland, both games coming in two wins over San Diego to hold on to first place in the WCC. Patacsil's five RBI on Sunday were a career high and tied for the second most RBI in a single game by any WCC player this year. He capped off his week with two home runs. This is the first time in 2024 that a Pilot won Rawlings WCC Player of the Week, and it is Portland's sixth Conference award overall this season.

RAWLINGS WCC BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK – LIAM PADDACK, JR., LHP – GONZAGA
Liam Paddack completed seven shutout innings, allowing just three hits while striking out a season-high 10 batters in Gonzaga's 8-0 win last Saturday at San Francisco. Paddack became the first Bulldog to win Rawlings WCC Pitcher of the Week this season, and it is Gonzaga's second straight week earning a Conference weekly honor.

RAWLINGS WCC BASEBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK – MAX BAYLES, FR., RHP – SANTA CLARA
Max Bayles set season highs in innings pitched and strikeouts while shutting down Pepperdine last Saturday to earn a victory and clinch the series for Santa Clara. Bayles threw five and two-thirds innings of shutout relief Saturday after entering in the fourth inning. He only allowed two singles while facing just two over the minimum during his outing. He struck out a season-high five and retired 10 of the last 11 he faced to finish the game and earn his fourth win of the year. This is Santa Clara's fourth Conference weekly award this season.
