No. 3 Saint Mary's Slugs Past No. 6 Pepperdine, 14-10

LAS VEGAS - Ten combined home runs left the yard as No. 3 Saint Mary's sluggest past No. 6 Pepperdine, 14-10, in the first round of the 2024 West Coast Conference Baseball Tournament from Las Vegas Ballpark. 

Among the 10 round trippers, Connor Walsh from Pepperdine homered twice, along with Ryan Pierce and Coleman Schmidt from the Gaels. 

Among the other offensive highlights, Dalton Mashore of Saint Mary's was a home run shy of the cycle. He went four-for-five on the day with 3 RBI and two runs scored. Brady Rench from the Waves also notched a four-hit game. 

The Gaels jumped out to a big lead, scoring three runs in each of the first two innings, taking a 6-1 lead after two. After Pepperdine fought back into the game, a four-run seventh inning gave Saint Mary's momentum for the rest of the way. 

Saint Mary's will play No. 2 seed Portland tomorrow at 7:20 p.m.
