SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Portland picked up two of the three Rawlings West Coast Conference Baseball Player of the Week honors this week. Jake Holcroft was named Rawlings WCC Baseball Player of the Week while his teammate Nick Brink won Rawlings WCC Pitcher of the Week for the fourth time this season. Gonzaga's Erik Hoffberg won Rawlings WCC Freshman of the Week.
RAWLINGS WCC BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – JAKE HOLCROFT, SR., OF – PORTLAND
Jake Holcroft batted .583 during the series against San Francisco, including two home runs and eight RBI. His home run in the series finale gave Portland a 5-4 lead that the Pilots never relinquished. Holcroft also batted 4-for-4 on Friday. His efforts helped the Pilots earn their third sweep in WCC play this year. This is the second time this year that a Pilot has won Rawlings WCC Player of the Week.

RAWLINGS WCC BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK – NICK BRINK, JR., RHP – PORTLAND
Nick Brink garnered his second complete game of the year last Friday, allowing three runs and five hits with 13 strikeouts. The 13 K's are a career best and also the fourth time he's posted double-digit strikeouts. Brink is the only WCC pitcher with multiple complete games under his belt this season. In addition to Brink winning this award for the fourth time, this is also the sixth time a Pilot has won the award in 2024.

RAWLINGS WCC BASEBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK – ERIK HOFFBERG, FR., RHP – GONZAGA
Erik Hoffberg made three appearances last week for Gonzaga, collecting 15 strikeouts over six and one-third shutout innings. In two of those appearances, Hoffberg recorded all of his outs by strikeout. At Washington last Tuesday, Hoffberg pitched two and a third scoreless innings, allowing one hit while striking out seven Huskies. Last Friday at Pacific, Hoffberg pitched two innings without allowing a baserunner and picking up two more strikeouts to hold off the Tigers for an 11-7 win. Last Sunday, Hoffberg earned his fifth save of the season, pitching two scoreless innings while allowing two hits and striking out the side in both innings of work to help secure the 10-9 win. This is the second time a Bulldog has won Rawlings WCC Freshman of the Week in 2024.
