Eight West Coast Conference Baseball Student-Athletes Selected In 2025 MLB Draft

USD's Jack Gurevitch was selected in the third round

ATLANTA – Eight West Coast Conference baseball student-athletes, from five different programs, were selected during the 2025 Major League Baseball Draft, which ran from July 13-14. 

Among the eight draft selections, three programs boasted two draftees - LMU, Portland and San Diego.
 
Highlighting the West Coast Conference in the draft was infielder Jack Gurevitch of San Diego being selected in the third round (89th overall) by the St. Louis Cardinals. 
 
Joining Gurevitch on the Cardinals is Gonzaga's Payton Graham who was drafted in the seventh round. The second Torero drafted was Austin Smith by Toronto in the 10th round. 

The first Pilot off the board was Tyler Howard in round 11 to Cleveland. His teammate Curtis Hebert went in the final round to Houston. 

Aiden Taurek of Saint Mary's was drafted by Seattle in the 13th round. LMU boasted two selections with Bean Ankeney being selected by Detroit in the 14th round and Zack Mack by the New York Mets in round 16.
