SPOKANE, Wash. – Washington State men's and women’s cross country won the 2025 West Coast Conference Championships on Saturday from The Course Spokane Valley, Spokane, Wash. The 22nd-ranked Cougar women began the day winning the team title on the 6K course with 38 points, topping second place and No. 26 Gonzaga after the Bulldogs finished with 43 points. In the men's race, the 11th-ranked Cougars, also the top-ranked team in the West, claimed the Conference team title on the 8K course with 26 points.  
The top-10 finishers from each race secured all-conference first team honors, while finishers 11-15 earned all-conference second team accolades. 
Women's Race Recap
Washington State's Rosemary Longisa won the women's individual championship with a course-record time of 19:35. Longisa was a two-time award winner also garnering Freshman of the Year accolades, as well. Longisa became the first women's West Coast Conference runner to win both awards since Amie Dahnke from Portland in 2004. Longisa's championship-winning time is the best since 2017 when Charlotte Taylor from San Francisco clocked in at 19:10.
The Cougars won the team title with 38 points. Gonzaga came in second with 43 points, followed by Oregon State with 84 points. The Cougars raced to the championship behind Longisa (19:35.0) and Zenah Cheptoo with her third-place finish, clocking in at 20:01.1. Cheptoo took third place for the third straight year. Washington State placed four runners in the top nine - eighth-place Caroline Jepkorir (20:35.4) and ninth-place Nicole Bissell (20:36.6) added significant contributions to the title run.
The Bulldogs featured three runners in the top 10 as Logan Hofstee took second place (19:46.8), while Jessica Frydenlund took fifth place (20:17.3) and Willow Collins finished in seventh place for the second straight year at 20:29.1. 
 
Oregon State, San Francisco and Santa Clara each boasted a top-10 finisher as USF's Anna Buettner took fourth at 20:09.7), Santa Clara's Milaina Almonte placed sixth (20:24.1) and Sage Brooks of the Beavers clocked a time of 20:36.8 to take 10th place. 
Men's Race Recap
In the men's race, Solomon Kipchoge of Washington State claimed his first Conference men's individual title with a course-record time of 22:32.6, marking the second straight year that a Cougar won the men's individual championship after his teammate Evans Kurui won it last year. Kurui finished in second place this year (22:57.6).
The Cougars also won the team title with 26 points. Portland finished second with 50 points, followed closely by Gonzaga with 58 points. 
Jonas Price from Portland, crossed the finish line in third place with a time of 23:15.9. He was followed by Gonzaga's Logan Schwartz in fourth (23:34.8). With his fourth-place finish, Schwartz also won West Coast Conference Freshman of the Year. 
 
WSU featured five runners in the top 10. In addition to Kipchoge and Kurui, Josphat Meli crossed the finish line at 23:35.6 to claim fifth place, while Kutoven Stevens finished in eighth (23:42.4) and Vincent Koech took 10th place at 23:45.4). 
The Pilots featured three runners in the top 10, in addition to Schwartz. Kgadi Monyebodi took sixth place at 23:36.6, followed by his teammate Nolan Hosbein in seventh (23:42.1).
Rounding out the top 10 was Divan Du Plooy from Saint Mary's who clocked in at 23:42.8 to take ninth place. 
The NCAA West Regionals are hosted by Sacramento State and will take place on Friday, Nov. 14, at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex.
