LMU Wins Two Rawlings WCC Baseball Player of the Week Awards To Start 2025

Santa Clara’s Max Bayles won Pitcher of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Opening the 2025 West Coast Conference Baseball season, LMU claimed two of the three Conference player of the week awards as Colby Wallace won Rawlings WCC Baseball Player of the Week, while Nate Savoie earned Rawlings WCC Freshman of the Week. After his dominant performance on the mound, Max Bayles from Santa Clara took Rawlings WCC Pitcher of the Week accolades.

RAWLINGS WCC BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – COLBY WALLACE, SR., OF – LMU
Colby Wallace scored six runs, drove in four and recorded seven hits over the opening weekend. He slashed .636/.750/1.273, clubbing a pair of doubles, a triple and a monster home run over the right field wall. The senior added four walks, stole a base and made a sliding catch down the right field line to save a run in Sunday's finale. His efforts helped the Lions sweep Seattle over the weekend.

Also Nominated: Diego Castellanos, Saint Mary's; Jack Gurevitch, San Diego; Dylan Joyce, Santa Clara; Jordan Lewis, San Francisco; Julian Nunez, Pepperdine; Robert Orr, Pacific

RAWLINGS WCC BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK – MAX BAYLES, SO. – SANTA CLARA

He entered in the fourth inning and retired eight of the last nine he faced with five strikeouts.
