SAN DIEGO - No. 4 seed LMU defeated No. 5 seed Gonzaga, 4-1, in the quarterfinals of the West Coast Conference Women's Tennis Tournament at the Aztec Tennis Complex on the San Diego State campus. The Lions advanced to Friday's semifinals to face No. 1 seed Pepperdine. 

Gonzaga won the first doubles match on court two with Norhan Hesham and Safien Boulonois garnering a decisive 6-1 victory, but LMU was dominant on the other two courts to secure the doubles point for the Lions. Anastasia Bozova and Stefania Rogozinska-Dzik were victorious on court one, 6-2, while Fiona Arrese and Martina Bovio finished at a near identical time on court three, 6-3. 

In singles, LMU picked up three singles wins on courts one, three and five. On the top court, Rogozinska-Dzik handled Emily Robertson in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3. Camilia Samel Druz also garnered a straight-set win over Ella Nielsen, 6-2, 6-1 on the No. 3 court. On the fifth court, Kim-Michaela Zahraj topped Rose Hayes, 6-2, 6-3. 

The Bulldogs earned their lone point on court 2 as Hesham boasted her second win of the day with a 6-3, 6-3, victory over Bozova. 

The Lions and Waves will meet on Friday at 10 a.m. in the semifinals.
