SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Pepperdine heard its name called to the 2025 NCAA Women’s Tennis Tournament as announced on Monday. The Waves will head east to the Knoxville regional and face Wake Forest. The winner of that match will face the winner of host Tennessee and Elon.
At last weekend’s WCC Women’s Tennis Tournament, No. 1 seed Pepperdine captured the Conference title over No. 2 seed San Diego, 4-2, marking the 11th consecutive WCC Tournament title for the Waves. The Waves are 14-11 overall this season and finished 5-1 in conference matches. Pepperdine is 0-2 all-time vs. Wake Forest with the losses coming in 1998 and 2000.
Making their 37th consecutive NCAA Championship appearance and the 41st in program history, Pepperdine advanced to the national semifinals last season before falling to Georgia, 4-0.
The first two rounds will take place on May 2 and 3. The winner of each site advances to super-regional competition May 9 or 11. Each super-regional site will feature two teams playing a single-elimination format. The super-regional winners advance to Waco, Texas where the eight teams will compete for the national championship from May 15-18.
In addition to Pepperdine, Saint Mary's and Washington State are set to compete in the UTR Sports National Invitational Tournament from May 7-9 in Rome, Georgia. Pacific and Saint Mary's competed in last year's tournament.
