SAN DIEGO - No. 2 seed Pepperdine swept No. 3 Santa Clara, 4-0 in the semifinals of the West Coast Conference Men's Tennis Tournament at the Aztec Tennis Complex on the San Diego State campus.
The nationally 25th-ranked Waves will meet top-seed and No. 3 nationally ranked San Diego in the championship match on Saturday at 2 p.m.
The Waves earned the doubles point starting on court three with Aleksa Pisaric and Lasse Poertner garnering the first win, 6-1. The Waves also won decisively on the second court to gain the doubles point with Maxi Homberg and Linus Carlsson Halldin winning, 6-3.
In singles, Pepperdine maintained control of the match picking up singles wins in straight sets on courts two, three and five. Carlsson Halldin earned his second win of the day, 6-4, 6-4 on court two, while Poertner won, 6-0, 6-4 on court three. David Fix was victorious on court five, 6-1, 7-5.
