SMC's Ryan Pierce Wins Rawlings West Coast Conference Baseball Player of the Week

USD and LMU also picked up conference honors

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – For the second straight week a Gael was named Rawlings West Coast Conference Baseball Player of the Week as Ryan Pierce picked up the accolade this week. Rawlings West Coast Conference Freshman of the Week went to LMU's Nate Savoie for the second time this season. Cal Scolari from San Diego won Rawlings West Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week for the first time in 2025. 

RAWLINGS WCC BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – RYAN PIERCE, JR., INF – SAINT MARY'S
Ryan Pierce led the Gaels with eight hits and three home runs during the team's four-win week, which included a 13-8 win over Nevada and a sweep over Pacific. He homered against Nevada twice against the Tigers. Pierce was also stellar defensively with 12 assists and no errors. This is Pierce's second Conference award this season and the fourth time a Gael has won Conference player of the week in 2025.

RAWLINGS WCC BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK – CAL SCOLARI, SO. – SAN DIEGO
Cal Scolari allowed just one hit (an RBI bunt single) across six innings of one-run ball while striking out a career-high 11 batters Friday night against San Francisco. San Diego won 10-1 and swept the Dons last weekend. This is Scolari's first Conference weekly honor and the fourth time in 2025 that the Toreros have claimed Conference pitcher of the week.

RAWLINGS WCC BASEBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK – NATE SAVOIE, FR., C/OF – LMU
Nate Savoie finished 7-for-16 last week. He blasted a pair of homers during the series against Gonzaga, including going 4-for-4 on Saturday, finishing a triple shy of the cycle. Savoie added six RBI and five runs. Three stolen bases collected also added to his superb offensive week. This is the second time this season that Savoie has won this award.
