Anders And Myklebust Win First West Coast Conference Women's Soccer Players Of The Week Of 2025

Anders scored twice for San Diego on Thursday

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – San Diego's Amanda Anders scored twice in her collegiate debut and LMU's Emma Gustad Myklebust held off a robust UC Santa Barbara scoring attack as Anders won West Coast Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and Myklebust garnered West Coast Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. 
 
WEST COAST CONFERENCE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – AMANDA ANDERS, FR., F – SAN DIEGO
Amanda Anders scored twice for the Toreros in her collegiate debut off the bench in San Diego's 3-3 tie against Cal Poly. Anders became the first Torero freshman in 12 years to notch a brace in their collegiate debut. Her second goal tied the game with less than eight minutes remaining in the contest. Anders is the first Torero to win West Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week since the conference weekly recognition split into offensive and defensive acknowledgements following the 2019 season.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – EMMA GUSTAD MYKLEBUST, SO., D – LMU
Emma Gustad Myklebust played a pivotal role in LMU's season-opening 2-1 victory at UC Santa Barbara. Myklebust opened the scoring for the Lions in the sixth minute off a corner kick by knocking in a bouncing ball in the box. The tally marked her first goal as a Lion. Defensively, she anchored the back line against multiple Gaucho offensive attacks throughout the contest. The Gauchos registered 27 shots but managed only one goal.
